The four day ‘Virgen de la Paz’ summer fiesta will start in La Marina urbanizacion market place on Thursday 31st July and continue through to Sunday 3rd August. This year a road train will collect people from all over the urbanizacion to transport them to the fiesta free of charge, and, return trips to certain drop-off points throughout the urbanzsacion at the end of each night. This year we have organized some great entertainment for people of all nationalities and all ages, also, some great local talent will perform live on stage.
A Marquee will be erected in the marketplace to stage all events under cover.
- Popular rock and roll music bands; Rufus Stone, Reckless, Plan B, Rubber Soul (Beatles cover band), B4 (Cuban influenced band), the Keith Meyer Big Band, and, Charlie - a great young solo vocalist, as well as Flamenco dancers and mobile disco’s will perform live on stage in the marquee during the 4 day Fiesta. There will be live stage performances every afternoon and evening.
- Late night disco and a foam party at 2am every night.
- Big screen electronic ‘Wii’ type interactive games to involve yourself in and enjoy.
- A Gigantic Paella will be prepared during the fiesta, enough to feed 1000 people.
- A children’s fun and games play area and a children’s nursery with security.
- The children’s final of “It’s a Costa Blanca Knockout” contest will take place on Saturday 2nd August during the fiesta.
- An ‘It’s a Costa Knockout’ challenge event is being planned between the Policia Local / Emergency services (SEM) / Bomberos (Firemen) and possibly the Guardia Civil, this will also take place on Saturday 2nd August.
- A public bar serving Alcoholic, soft drinks and baguettes. Other food vendors have also been invited to supply different types of hot and cold food.
- A grand fireworks display and much much more.
Watch out for Fiesta Programs that will be available soon. You will be able to obtain a copy from many local outlets including the Tourist Information Center in La Marina and the Town Hall in San Fulgencio.
